Allison Brooks Janney, an American actress was born in 1959. For the past 30 years her performance has received appreciation on both screen and stage. Janney has been honored with numerous prizes, including an Academy Award and British Academy Film Award. Additionally, she received Seven Primetime Emmy Awards. She also won two Tony Awards were nominated. Janney was a native of Dayton, Ohio. She was born and lived in Boston. Her Kenyon College graduation earned her the opportunity to study at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Janney's debut on TV came in 1999 when she appeared as C. J. Cregg in NBC's political drama The West Wing (from 1999 to 2006). She won Four Primetime Emmy Awards for the performance. For her role in the Showtime show Masters of Sex, Margaret Scully, Janney won the Primetime Emmy Award 2014 for Outstanding Guest Actress In the Drama Series. Janney was awarded two Outstanding Supporting Actress Awards for Comedy series and was awarded six times by Primetime Emmy Awards.
